Hindamooz began with a simple conviction shared by its two founders: that the real India, the one we know as scholars, deserves to be experienced, not merely toured.
We are Dr. Shami Ulla and Dr. Maryam Alizadeh. We met at the University of Delhi, where we both earned our PhDs in philosophy, and we shared a frustration. The international visitors who came to India saw its surfaces: the monuments, the markets, the photographs. But the India we knew, its ideas, its living traditions, the meaning behind its colors and rituals and festivals, remained invisible to them.
So we decided to build something different. Not a travel company, but an academic bridge. A way for international students, faculty, and professionals to encounter India the way we had: with depth, with context, and with genuine understanding.
Every Hindamooz program is built on this principle. We do not bring tourists. We bring scholars, professionals, and the genuinely curious, and we make sure that every journey carries real learning.
Each Hindamooz program teaches on two levels at once.
Guests engage directly with their own field in India. They visit universities, leading research and academic institutions, companies, and industries relevant to their studies or profession. They see, learn, experience, and touch the working reality of their discipline as it exists in India.
This is the deeper layer, and it is what sets us apart. Every sign we encounter in India, every color, every prayer, every ceremony and festival, carries meaning beyond the stories told about it. What function do these hold in the everyday life of Indians today? Why is Indian society shaped the way it is? This is the real study of India, woven into every program we run.

Dr. Shami holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Delhi, specializing in Applied Philosophy and Applied Ethics. As the founder and chief executive of Hindamooz, he leads the company's vision and academic direction, drawing on more than a decade of work in his field.
Dr. Maryam holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Delhi, specializing in Indian Philosophy and Indology. She brings over ten years of scholarship in the study of India, shaping the civilizational depth that defines every Hindamooz program.
Together, we bring more than twenty years of combined academic experience. We have been developing this model of educational travel for three years informally and two years formally, building a record of programs delivered with care and precision.
